EDUX 7911 In this course, participants will explore how to engage students in the social studies and history classroom. Course participants will summarize and evaluate research on the course topic, actively engage in related activities, and establish future goals for their classroom. Participants will enhance their instructional practice through applying research-based strategies and reflecting on their learning experiences. This course combines educational theory and practical implementation of effective social studies and history instruction.
NOTE: Independent Podcast Study utilizes podcasts, streaming, YouTube videos, TED Talks, Talks at Google, IdeaCity, PopTech, Big Think, or other streaming options as the main focus of research. A list of suggestions will be provided (see specific directions in the course syllabus and assignment templates).
