This course provides expertise that educators should seek to develop in their learners at all grade levels. Course participants will examine problem solving, reasoning and proof, communication, representation, and connections. The overarching goal of this course is to familiarize teachers with the Standards for Mathematical Practice in a way that is applicable across all states and to help develop students who are mathematically proficient. This course provides an in depth look at the eight mathematics practice standards and allows teachers the opportunity to explore ways to implement each standard into their classroom.
This course is available for 1, 2, or 3 units. Please see Course Level pull-down menu to the right to choose the number of credits selected for this course (F = 1 unit, G = 2 units, and H = 3 units).
