EDUX 7836 A Fresh Look at Phonics, Grades K-2.  This course supports teachers in implementing evidence-based phonics instruction from A Fresh Look at Phonics, Grades K-2: Common Causes of Failure and 7 Ingredients for Success (Blevins, 2016).  Students will explore lessons, routines, word lists, tips for ELL and advanced learners, and advice on pitfalls to avoid regarding pacing, decodable texts, transition time, and more.  The course supports teachers in understanding how to implement effective phonics and reading instruction.
