Course Description
EDUX 7755 (3 units). In this course, teachers of all grade levels and subject areas will learn how to help build and enhance their students’ vocabulary in order to ensure academic success through exposure, explanation and examples. Participants will summarize and evaluate research on the course topic, actively engage in related activities, and establish future goals for their classroom. During this course, students enhance their instructional practice through applying research-based strategies and reflecting on their learning experiences. This course combines educational theory and practical implementation of effective vocabulary instruction.
NOTE: Independent Study is an adaptable learning format for teachers to gain university credit as they choose a subject that is of interest to them as well as beneficial for their classroom.
