January 14 - March 4 Zoom meeting 1/14/25 @ 5:00 These courses will be taught using our Online/Hybrid format. Each course will consist of 45 hours of online learning, contact with the instructor and outside practicum. Students may begin working on a course after requesting the syllabus from the instructor, registering online, and attending the Zoom orientation meeting.

EDUX 5310 (A, B, C, D).   This course examines a broad range of activities that reinforce, re-teach and enrich skills in math, language arts, and phonics. The course materials are designed to teach students at every skill level and are targeted to meet mandated standards and programs. Math materials expand student development from simple number recognition, addition and subtraction to complex mathematical equations. In language arts, projects range from simple letter recognition to blends, digraphs, syntax, cause and effect recognition and categorizing. Participants can adapt all materials to suit the needs of their own classroom and select from hundreds of samples, ideas and patterns. These well-researched projects will have positive impact on student motivation and success.

  • Develop a comprehensive file of activities to reinforce, teach and re-teach skills

  • Improve student preparation for mandated testing

  • Develop a systematic approach for creating activities for use in the classroom for independent work time and/or math and language arts learning centers

  • Help students meet content standards in language arts and math as well as CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exam)

  • Develop a file of activities and adapt materials to target their own classroom needs

  • Prepare materials to assess the progress of pupils in their math and language development

Course Requirements

Defined course meetings, times and attendance policy (specific to each class).

GRADING:Things that affect your grade are attendance, promptness, participation in class discussions, quality of work generated, remembering to sign in and out, projects completed, and quality of assignments and homework completed.

Active on-task participation is necessary to receive credit. Please put your cellphones on vibrate during class. If an emergency occurs and you need to make or answer a call, please step outside to have your conversation.
