EDUX 5290: INCORPORATING ART IN ACADEMICS

Course Description

EDUX 5290 (A, B, C, D).  

This course reinforces research studies that indicate art-based curriculum enhances critical thinking. The tactics of using multiple intelligences to create a variety of practical applications that strengthen standard-based outcomes are investigated and modeled in this course. The research and data will be analyzed and reinforced by practical application. The aspects of utilizing the multiple facets of art as it relates to literature and history will be examined. The simplicity of building self-esteem and utilizing speech and communication will be implemented in detail throughout the course. 


Course Requirements

Information regarding the specific COURSE REQUIREMENTS will be given the first day of class. 

GRADING:  Things that affect your grade are attendance, promptness, participation in class discussions, quality of work generated, projects completed, and quality of assignments and homework completed.  Active on-task participation is necessary to receive credit.

* Please note that the student may take up to four sections of this same course number designated A, B, C or D.  There are four levels to this course.  These courses must be taken in sequential order (e.g., "A" must be taken before "B").  When enrolling, students are responsible for knowing the section of the course for which they are eligible.
