EDUX 7685. This course examines the advantages and disadvantages of educating students with disabilities alongside their non-disabled peers. Course participants will summarize and evaluate research on the course topic, actively engage in related activities, and establish future goals for their classroom. Participants will enhance their instructional practice through applying research-based strategies and reflecting on their learning experiences. This course evaluates the benefits and difficulties encountered in an inclusive classroom.
NOTE: Independent Research Study is an adaptable learning format for teachers to gain university credit as they choose a subject that is of interest to them as well as beneficial for their classroom. For this format, students select and read a book that is related to the course topic (see specific directions in the course syllabus and assignment templates).
