EDUX 7680. This course will consider the different needs and strengths of individual students, as well as the needs and strengths of the whole class. Participants will examine how language, culture, gender, and socio-economics shape our students’ world. Course participants will summarize and evaluate research on the course topic, actively engage in related activities, and establish future goals for their classroom. Participants will enhance their instructional practice through applying research-based strategies and reflecting on their learning experiences. This course uses a variety of approaches in order to reach as many minds as possible.
NOTE: Independent Research Study is an adaptable learning format for teachers to gain university credit as they choose a subject that is of interest to them as well as beneficial for their classroom. For this format, students select and read a book that is related to the course topic (see specific directions in the course syllabus and assignment templates).
