July 24 - August 7 Zoom meeting 7/24/24 @ 4:00 These courses will be taught using our Online/Hybrid format. Each course will consist of 45 hours of online learning, contact with the instructor and outside practicum. Students may begin working on a course after requesting the syllabus from the instructor, registering online, and attending the Zoom orientation meeting.

EDUX 5180 (A, B, C, D).  

Developing a fun and exciting curriculum that meets the Content Standards can be challenging for any educator. This course focuses on designing curriculum that matches the standards with teacher-made materials students love to use. Participants will examine ways of documenting student performance in order to modify and redesign the curriculum to meet both content standards and the needs of the children in the classroom.

  • Adapting games, centers, and activities to meet Content Standards.
  • Improving participants’ ability to adapt the curriculum to student needs.
  • Enhancing the classroom, curriculum and learning centers with proven materials.
  • Improving student preparation for mandated testing.
  • Developing systematic approach for creating activities for use during independent work time.
  • Increasing student motivation.


Course Materials:

Students will build a file of helpful strategies, activities and materials that are designed to improve educator curriculum design and overall student performance. 

 


Course Requirements

Information regarding the specific COURSE REQUIREMENTS will be given the first day of class.

GRADING:  Things that affect a student's grade include attendance, promptness, participation in class discussions, quality of work generated, projects completed, and quality of assignments and homework completed.  Active on-task participation is necessary to receive credit.

* Please note that the student may take up to four sections of this same course number designated A, B, C, or D.  There are four levels to this course.  These courses must be taken in sequential order (e.g., "A" must be taken before "B").  When enrolling, students are responsible for knowing the section of the course for which they are eligible.
